POVERTY AROUND THE WORLD

INTRODUCTION
According to a layman , POVERTY refers to being unable to afford basic human needs, which commonly includes clean and fresh water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter.
POVERTY means the condition of having little or no money, goods, or means of support.

DISCUSSION
As we all know that not only our country but the whole world is facing the problem of poverty and this is a serious issue.
According to united nation 2010 HUMAN DEVELOPMENT REPORT ,ZIMBABWE is the most poorest country in the world.
Multidimensional poverty varies by region from three percent in Europe and Central Asia to 65% in Sub-Saharan Africa.
According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”
If current trends continue, the Millennium Development Goals target of halving the proportion of underweight children will be missed by 30 million children, largely because of slow progress in Southern Asia and sub-Saharan Africa

CONCLUSION
Income should increase to make basic needs more affordable Today, poverty reduction is a major goal and issue for many international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank .It can only be reduced by overall economic growth .It includes welfare , development aid ,debt relief, education and skill building , micro loans, empowering women ,gender equality ,economic and political participation.
